o promote and preserve Thai cultural heritage, the Mae Fah Luang Foundation (MFLF) was established. Since its founding in 1974, the MFLF has actively promoted Thai culture through a multitude of educational, research, conservation and community development programs.
Among its most significant achievements is the creation of the Doi Tung Development Project in 1988, which aimed to improve the quality of life of indigenous hill tribes and preserve natural resources from exploitation. Doi Tung’s sustainable development narrative, which strikes a balance between economic progress and environmental protection, has been highlighted by numerous foreign media outlets.
In addition to this forward-looking program, the MFLF is involved in a wide range of other initiatives, such as those that improve rural residents’ access to health care, reduce poverty, strengthen youth leadership, preserve and restore ancient monuments and temples throughout Thailand, protect wildlife habitats, and more.
Overall, the Mae Fah Luang Foundation has been a shining example of selfless service over the past four decades.
